Prophetic Pulpit: Two-state solution

                                 Are we closer than we think?!

Joel 3:1, 2 For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations and bring them down the the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there. On account of my people, my heritage Israel, whom they scattered among the nations. They have also divided up my land. 

Joel 3: 1, 2 tells us that after God regathers His people, the Jews, back to their homeland, shortly after He will gather the nations of the world and judge them at the battle of Armageddon. One of the primary reasons is because they divided up the land of Israel which God says is my land. 

We know we are so close to that battle when powerful global organizations like the United Nations and the European Union are insisting Israel agree to a two-state solution. The United Nations Security General, Antonio Guterres, declared, "A lasting end to the Israeli conflict can only come from a two-state solution. Israel's rejection of the two-state solution is unacceptable."

Because of the war in Gaza and the so many Palestinians killed, much of the world is putting tremendous pressure on Israel, declaring the two-state solution is the only agreement that can bring peace to the Middle East. The two-state solution means Israel will have to give up the West Bank which includes East Jerusalem. Though we are genuinely saddened by the deaths of so many innocent Palestinians, God says Israel is my land and no one has the right to divide it up. I gave it to my chosen people, the Jews, and it belongs to them. All of it!

The European Union's Foreign Policy Chief has insisted on a two-state solution in the Israel-Palestinian conflict, saying, "Israel's plan to destroy the Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza is not working."  Ahead of talks with Israeli and Palestinian top diplomats, Josep Borrell on Monday said Israel cannot build peace "only by military means" as he echoed the United Nation's condemnation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "unacceptable" rejection of calls for a Palestinian state after the war of Gaza. "What we want to do is build a two-state solution. So let's talk about it," Borrell said. "Which are the other solutions they have in mind? To make all the Palestinians leave? To kill them off?" 

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock also backed Borrell, saying a two-state solution is the "only solution" to the conflict and would allow for the peaceful coexistence between Israelis and Palestinians. All those who say they don't want to hear about such a solution have not brought any alternative," she added, while also calling for an urgent 'humanitarian pause' to what has been described by several governments and right groups as a genocidal campaign in Gaza.

We know by the scriptures God will judge the nations of the earth for their mistreatment of the Jews and for dividing up His land at the battle of Armageddon. We also know this battle occurs after the rapture. It occurs at the end of the Great Tribulation. Seeing the great pressure put on Israel to divide up the land by agreeing to a two-state solution is just one more indicator that we are very close to the coming of the Lord.
