                 So, what makes my generation so different?

Joel 3:1 For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem

From the moment Jesus ascended into heaven, every generation has claimed the signs of the times. There has always been wars and rumors of wars! There has always been earthquakes and volcanoes! There has always been famine and pestilence! So, what makes our generation so different? Great question. I have a great answer. We are the only generation that has the rebirth of Israel. 

In the scriptures God clearly tells us when we are in the closing moment in the last days. Throughout the bible the Lord says, When Israel is a nation again, you can be certain I am about to close the curtain. Well, this happened May 14, 1948. And what a fulfillment of bible prophecy! In Isaiah 66:8, the question is asked, Can a nation be born in a day? And the answer is a triumphant, "Yes!" That is exactly what happened. In one day the United Nations voted the nation of Israel back into existence. 

For centuries no one believed Israel's return to their land could be possible. No nation has been dispossessed all over the earth for hundreds of years and returned. It is not possible. Yet, the Jews showed us that what is impossible with man is possible with God. The Amorites, where are they? They do not exist. The Amalekites, where are they? They do not exist. The Philistines, where did they go? They are extinct. But the Jews, beyond all possibility are back in their land thriving as the eighth most powerful country in the world. And God says, When I bring the captives back to their land and they stand before me as a nation again, you know you are in the closing moment of the last days.

So why is Israel's existence as a nation again such a big deal?

Since the rebirth of Israel, we are seeing ALL the signs converging. We are the only generation that is seeing ALL the signs happening at the same time. It is our generation that is seeing the race to globalism. It is our generation that has the technology to show the entire world prophetic events as they happen in real time. It is our generation that is seeing the nations perfectly aligned for the Gog, Magog war. It is our generation that is witnessing the apostasy in the church. It is our generation that is seeing the utter depravity in world government. We are the generation that is seeing the push for digital currency (thank you, Covid.) It is our generation that is seeing the spirit of Antichrist turning Satan into a cultural popstar right before our very eyes. It is our generation that has the revived Roman Empire. We can go on and on. My point is that we are the generation that is seeing all these prophetic events happening at the same time, hastening us toward the rapture of the church and the global takeover of the Antichrist.

And yet, here is the tragedy: the church has heard so much about the signs of the times, our ears have become dull of hearing. We have heard so much about Christ is returning soon! (and may I say, thank God for it!) we have fallen asleep and have so little expectancy. Yes, we still talk about His imminent return. We claim we believe Jesus can come back any day now, but belief is revealed in behavior. Much of the church is finding its treasures in the things of this world. This world defines our identity, our allegiance, our purpose, our joy, our trust, our hope. Never before has Jesus words rang true, "You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing. But you do not realize you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 

The point I am making is we are in the times of the signs. We are the generation seeing all the signs colliding into each other all at once, propelling us to the end. The signs of the times is God's megaphone, and He is calling out to us louder than ever, Wake up! Stir yourself! Put away your affinity to this world and prepare your heart! The Bridegroom is at hand! You have no idea how close you are to that moment the dead in Christ will rise, and you that remain caught up with me in the air.
