Welcome

Welcome to my site. I am so glad you decided to visit.
Throughout the years I have shared with my wife my love for writing. From devotional thoughts to short stories, I have shared with her the things in my heart expressed on paper. Being the supportive wife that she is, she has always encouraged me to share this gift with others.

As a young boy, I discovered my love for writing.
I have warm memories of my boyhood, waking up Saturday mornings with anticipation, just waiting for my mom to return from her weekend shopping trips from "the Pig." After helping her bring in the groceries, I would stand quietly beside the kitchen table, watching as she removed items from the brown Piggly Wiggly bags. Finally, she would pull out a new notebook and hand it to me. I would immediately retreat to my bedroom and spend countless hours mulling over the blank pages, dreaming up new lands and adventures to fill the lines with.

My family enjoyed reading my stories. Once my brother bugged me into submitting a story to a county competition sponsored by our school. I won first place in short stories. My mom still has the newspaper write up in her scrapbook.

As to be expected, life got very busy as an adult. From a Communication Specialist in the United States Army to teaching fulltime in a bible school, opportunities to write were few and far between. Yet, I never lost my love for writing. If you walk around my house you will find snippets of paper, napkins, and toilet paper smeared with scribble, lost in unexpected places.

In a delightful, unexpected turn of events, 2022 has proven to be a blessing in regards to once more having quality time to put thoughts to paper. To be honest with you, the past summer and fall months have been difficult adjusting to a new house and job, but I see now how the Lord was arranging everything in its place to provide me with this blessed opportunity to write again. I am so grateful.

The name of my blog is Breaking Bread Together. I believe the title warmly expresses my desire for what I want this blog to eventually become. It is a work in progress, yet as I continue to build, I hope it becomes a place where we can share our thoughts and insights together. Whether there be many or few, I desire to share warm fellowship with others as we break the bread of God's Word together.

In my blog there is a variety of topics (be sure to click on the menu button for Topics and their Posts). In topics like Champions of Grace and Narrative Themes, I look forward to sharing many of the truths I have taught in class that the years have proven to be life changing in my life and the lives of the students as well.

There is a new topic I am thrilled to share with you, The Prophetic Pulpit. Over the years I have developed a love for eschatology in the light of current events. We are so close to the return of Christ that everything going on in our world today relates to bible prophecy. As Christians we are living in very exciting times when we have an understanding of bible prophecy. (To forewarn you, often when I am writing about current events in relation to end time prophecy, I can feel the intensity building, much like the music on the movie "Jaws." I can't help myself. However, I will try to curb the drama).
When you go to "Topics" and then click on The Prophetic Pulpit, make sure you scroll down and click on "more posts" to access more articles.

Finally, many years ago I wrote my first Christian novel, but I never had the opportunity to publish it. With the opportunity to blog, I now have a means to share my story with others. After pulling it from the shelf, blowing the dust off, and reading through it, there were some much needed changes. However, after a thorough edit, it is now ready to be presented. As I am writing it on my blog, I have kept the chapters in draft mode, but it should be viewable shortly.

Well, that's about it. I look forward to sharing God's Word together and my prayer is that you will be blessed.

  9. I will definitely be checking in for new content as often as possible. Pastor Tim’s ministry has affected my life in a noticeable away. I still hear his voice from time to time reminding me of the truths that are; and I thank the Holy Spirit for bringing to memory those timely reminders that propel me further into my walk with Christ. I am excited to read, grow, and write together with everyone here as we await the return of our precious Lord and saviour. Thank you for being bold in sharing your heart with the world! May God bless you and your family forever for it — in the name of Jesus! Amen
