Prophetic Pulpit: Babylon rising Pt. 2

Revelation 18:3 For all the nations have drunken the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries. 

The Antichrist will control the world's commerce from Babylon making this city the commercial capital of the world. It will be the richest city throughout all history. The nations of the earth will stumble over themselves to unite with her because of her promise of riches and power. She will make the nations of the world drunken with greed. 

Babylon will also be the most sinful city throughout all history. The world will flock to partake of her sinful pleasures. Nothing will be off the table. Money will be able to buy anything. Every kind of sexual debauchery known to man will exist in Babylon. Human trafficking will be HUGE in Babylon. 

Vs. 11 The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargos anymore...Vs. 13 cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves. 

Revelation 18 makes it clear that Satan and his demons are the source of Babylon's great power. Though the Babylonian system will involve a multitude of organizations and super rich countries, it will not be the product of human ingenuity, but of Satanic strategy and power. 

Today Babylon has the potential of becoming that filthy rich city prophesied in scripture. Iraq has the 2nd leading oil reserves in the world, with so much of her oil remaining untapped. Iraq is filthy rich and the Antichrist could practically rebuild Babylon over night. 

So Tim, when will the Antichrist rebuild Babylon? The bible does not give the exact time. However, there is a theory that seems very possible. The bible tells us in Ezekiel 38 that Russia and many of the rich Middle Eastern Islamic countries will form an alliance and invade Israel (See What is the Gog, Magog war). Their intentions are to finally destroy the Israeli state and at the same time rob her of her great wealth. During this invasion, God will destroy these armies and crush these nations. With these rich, Islamic countries smoldering in ruins, now Iraq alone will control the world's oil supply (Isn't it interesting when Ezekiel 38 lists the Islamic countries that will ally with Russia, Iraq is not mentioned).
