Keys Pt II
Hi everyone. In my last blog we talked about "doors have locks." I know all the doors that give you entrance into my home has locks. Unfortunately, the world outside is not always safe.
I then said, "All locks need a key. Do I give this key to just anyone?" For example, when I go on a vacation and need someone to bring in my mail or feed my goldfish, do I entrust the key to my house to anyone? Of course not. I will only give this key to people I trust.
My point was, "Can God trust you with a new door?" Every new door requires a level of trust. Can the Lord trust your character-level with a new door?
This blog is called Keys Pt. II. Here I simply want to affirm that when God gives you a new door, it is a tremendous honor He is bestowing upon your life. A new door is God's statement of trust. God is saying to you, "This new door is my declaration that I have found you trustworthy of this new opportunity. Your character and faith have been sufficiently prepared for this and you are worthy of my trust." When the Lord opens to us a new door, we should feel both humbled and honored. God is saying, "I trust you."
With every new door comes a level of authority. I am reminded of Jesus' words to Peter: "I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven." When the Lord entrusts you with a door, it always comes with "a key of authority." In that new position or opportunity, God doesn't just place you there, but He calls you to reign there. It is a place of dominion, rulership and authority. In this new place the Lord is saying, "Be faithful here and your prayers will prevail and my kingdom will come and my will, will be done. Your intercession will be the most powerful force in this new place, and my purpose will prevail as you are faithful to move forward in effectual, fervent prayer. Step through the door and rule and reign in the authority I have entrusted to you."
Such a good word!
