Prophetic Pulpit: ISIS in bible prophecy?

                                             How could it be?

How could this possibly happen?
For decades the question has been asked by bible scholars all over the world. The bible tells us that in the very near future Russia will launch a surprise attack against Israel. Russia will lead a coalition of Islamic nations to annihilate Israel and plunder her wealth.

So how can Israel be caught so unaware? Russia is not even a bordering country. With all the technology Israel possesses, surely she will see the invasion coming and have time to prepare!                                                      This question has boggled the minds of bible scholars for many generations.

And rightfully so. Russia will have to travel 3,727 miles to reach the Israeli border. Flight Coordinators say it takes 6.66 hours to fly from Russia to Israel (does the number sound familiar?) With all her sophisticated military technology, how can Israel be caught so unaware?

However, we are boggled no more. The answer is ISIS.
(Did he just say ISIS?...I sure did!)

Without going into all the long details, in August 2011 ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) began moving its soldiers out of Iraq and into Syria. Then February 2014 this terrorist militia launched a full out war to overthrow Syrian President Al-Assad and his Alawite regime. Their goal was to establish a broader Islamic caliphate in Syria and Iraq.

The ISIS invasion was ruthless. This army of terrorist cutthroats slaughtered, raped and pillaged across the country. The ungodly brutality of ISIS sent shockwaves across the world.

Because of ISIS savagery, President Obama entered the United States into the war to eradicate ISIS. August 7, 2014 America began airstrikes in Syria.

In 2015 Russia began its attack on ISIS. A strong supporter of President Al-Assad, President Vladimir Putin was determined to obliterate ISIS and make the Al-Assad regime stronger than ever. It's the oil! Or partly. Russian corporations were experiencing positive relations with Syria, striking major collaborative deals because of the strong alliance between Putin and Al-Assad.

In 2016 President Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. It was then he made the decision to pull American troops out of Syria. To fill the military void, Russia and Iran joined forces (sound familiar) and eventually drove ISIS out of Syria.

So by now you are asking, What does all this have to do with Ezekiel 38?
Does this have anything to do with Russia invading Israel in the latter days?
It does. After ISIS fled, Russia never left Syria. In fact, promising Al-Assad stronger military support in Assad's attempt to fortify his Alawite regime, Putin took the opportunity to build a strong military presence in Syria. So now Russia is right on Israel's doorstep. Fighter jets; missiles; tanks; ground troops; it's all there. Russian forces are now 62 miles away from Israel's Northern border, armed to the teeth.

ISIS fulfilling bible prophecy? You bet! Thanks to ISIS both Russia and Iran have a strong military presence on Israel's Northern border. Between Iran and its proxies, 150,000 rockets are aimed at Israel even as we speak.

(Spoiler alert: It's not as grim as all that. Israel's going to be just fine. Ezekiel 38 & 39, it's all there).
