Utterly amazing!
Revelation 13:16, 17 And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
1900 years ago the bible prophesied what the last days would look like. What is utterly amazing is realizing a man named John exiled to a small island named Patmos just off the coast of Turkey wrote these things down in complete accuracy.
Think about it! Revelation was written in 95 AD in the first century, in an age where everything was wood, iron and stone. They rode on horses, fought with swords, and wrote on parchment paper. What John wrote was far beyond anyone's imagination at that time. John wrote about a one-world government, a one-world leader, a one-world economy, a one-world military force, and a one-world religion. He wrote about a futuristic time when all the world would be able to see certain prophetic events happen in real time. 1900 years ago John wrote about our technology and its capabilities when computers wouldn't be invented until hundreds of years later.
Who but God could have predicted with such accuracy and detail what the last days would look like.
Though we don't have a one-world government or leader or economy now, we as Christians can plainly see all these things are now possible and the stage is set. It's not something we have to take by faith like early eschatologists; all we have to do is open our eyes. Utterly amazing!
Amen!
