The Dreamer: Introduction Acts 2:17

                                                                                                                                                      What's It All About?

I have to admit, at first I was rather hesitant about adding this category to my list of topics. I have discovered whenever I talk about dreams, skeptics rise up and say, "I wouldn't talk about that. People may think your either a sensationalist or flakey. God speaks through the scriptures; stay with the Word." I have found their advice to be true; when sharing on dreams there has never been a shortage of people rise up and say, "Dreams are not from God." Or, "You're into mysticism." People have even implied that I could very well be a false prophet.

However, dreams have a special place in my life because the Lord has often spoke to me through dreams. For whatever reason, it is just one of the ways God has chosen to communicate with me. I know just as much as anyone else that the bible is God's Word, and it is the way He communicates the most with His people. "The Word is # 1!" Yet, at the same time, in these last days there are times God speaks through dreams.

When it is a dream from the Lord, most of the time you recognize it immediately.
First of all, it always lines up with scripture. When God speaks through a dream, almost always the Holy Spirit immediately brings verses to your heart and mind to verify the truth God is conveying in the dream. Secondly, the dream touches something very deep in your heart and you know God is speaking to you in a very personal way.

God has given me a very vivid imagination; a picture paints a thousand words. I guess this is why I love to study bible stories so much. This day the Lord shall deliver you into my hands, and I will cut your head off and feed your carcass to the birds of the air! Go David!!!

My favorite way to teach the bible is to take New Covenant truths recorded in the epistles and then turn to bible stories and see how these truths are worked out in the lives of everyday people.
For example, Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. "That sounds pretty cool! What in the world does it mean?!" We can turn to Genesis 12 and follow Abram through his journey of faith. We then see what Hebrews 11:1 looks like as it is worked out in the life of an ordinary man who has set his heart to follow God. I guess my point is, like bible stories, dreams paint pictures that convey spiritual truths and speak to something very deep in the heart. I guess this is one of the reasons why the Lord has chosen to speak to me through dreams.

So I said all that to say this, I am adding "The Dreamer" to my list of categories.
Anything God gives to His people is a beautiful gift, so dreams that come from the Lord are beautiful gifts God gives to His people.

My desire is that as I share some dreams God has given to me, as well as dreams given to other people I intimately know, you would be blessed. However, my BIGGEST desire, if the Lord permits, is that you would share with me dreams God has given to you. I would love to be blessed by them and may even post them with your permission. If you share a dream with me, please feel free to convey the story behind the dream. In other words, what was happening in your life that God was speaking to through the dream. If you have one you would like to share, I ask that you do not post it right away. Please send it to my email. My email is timclydewilliams@gmail.com.

God bless!
